We have a new CEO
Can’t say we could’ve picked a better guy – Sergio has been with us since the early days of HG, is extremely enthusiastic and motivated, gets along with everyone fine, but also not afraid to put his foot down when it’s needed. We have been working with him as the acting CEO during the transition, and are excited at the many things coming to HeavenGames’s future.
LOMBARD, IL – HeavenGames LLC, an internet leader in strategy fansites, today announced it has appointed Sergio “Socvazius” Prado to the position of Chief Executive Officer, effective July 28, 2007. Mr. Prado, a driven executive with considerable experience in the gaming industry, has worked at HeavenGames for 7 years in addition to Vivendi Universal’s brand marketing department. He currently is a college junior at Harvard University.
Prior to this appointment at HeavenGames, Mr. Prado served as the company’s Chief Content Officer on the executive board, ensuring the professional quality of content present across the network. He also headed six of its sites: for Age of Empires III, Age of Mythology, Age of Kings, Age of Empires, Rome: Total War, and Cossacks. During his employ at Vivendi Universal, Mr. Prado worked to market World in Conflict and Empire Earth III, two of the biggest strategy titles of 2007.
Tom Mescher, the exiting CEO, served as HeavenGames’ leader since its incorporation in October of 2000. He is moving on to continue his career in the IT industry.

A Note about Offline Messages in MSN/Windows Live Messenger
Please note if you have sent any offline messages to any of my MSN/Windows Live accounts, they are most likely lost as the feature is currently not supported by libpurple, the library that currently powers Pidgin (Which I use on my PC) and Adium (Which I use on my Mac). If I’m offline, the surest bet is to send me an email instead.
Boston Bash 2007 (AKA Dutch Date Boston)
Along with the Dutch Dates and London Bashes over in Europe, you have Dutch Date Boston here on the East Coast of the US. Usually it’s a small event, but theferret has much bigger plans for this year:
I want to make this happen, so I can continue the quest someone set me of meeting more forumers than any other American.
I suggest we do it in early September, on the Saturday and Sunday of Labor Day Weekend. We could all spend a night or two in a hostel – would run between $15 and $25 a night – and we can do geeky shit like visit the science museum and have fake lightsaber fights in the park.
So, if you’re in New England or nearby, we’d love to have you around for this year’s Boston Bash :)
Adobe Flash Exploit logs keystrokes
Adobe has announced three security advisories for various versions (7, 8, and 9) of its Adobe Flash Player, which concerns the ability of Flash files to log keystrokes and capture vital information (such as usernames, passwords, credit card numbers, etc.) It’s strongly recommended that you update your Flash player to the latest version.
